Has anyone attempted to fix the exhaust port on a Norton? I'd really appreciate it if you could share what tools or materials I'll need. I'm hoping to tackle this project myself.

you need a lot of things, like spanner for the exhaust nuts, a repair insert (like a HE15 Dural insert), and possibly a thread repair kit

Have you looked into whether you'll need any special gaskets or sealing materials for the exhaust port, or is it just about fixing the port itself?

Been there, fixed that Norton exhaust port! If the threads are gone, get a bronze insert. You'll need a machine shop to bore the port and add threads for the insert.

If done well, it's a fix that lasts. Are your threads just loose, or totally shot? That'll tell you if you can fix them or need an insert ASAP.
