My coworker's patch job on his 1971 Norton failed and we're shopping for a metal tank that won't cost more than the bike. Is Khanmousin or Enfieldcounty better for older Norton fitments?

When you mention lining them, are you referring to adding a fuel tank liner kit or something more extensive? Also, between Khanmousin and Enfieldcounty, do you have a preference for which one holds up better long term? I'm trying to balance cost with reliability since we're already on a tight budget with this repair.
Why are we still gambling on overseas eBay sellers for something as critical as a fuel tank? If Norton purists care so much about authenticity, why hasn't anyone stepped up to make reliable, affordable tanks stateside?
Tank liner kits such as POR-15 and Caswell are both effective options. While both brands offer good results, there isn't a clear winner when it comes to how long they last. It's pretty frustrating that there aren't any reproduction tanks available in the US, especially considering how popular Norton bikes are here.
I agree the lack of a US-made tank is a real issue for owners. So we ordered a tank and will get a kit. For those who have lined an Indian made tank before, is the prep work any different compared to an original due to manufacturing oils or residues?
The Emgo Roadster tanks are excellent, not sure why anyone would want to order an Indian tank to save a few bucks when these tanks are readily available in US and Canada and fit perfectly.

I just heard about that option for the first time, and of course, it comes right after we ordered a tank from India. Earlier, we were focused on figuring out how to make the imported tanks work since it seemed like there weren't any other affordable choices. For future reference, do Emgo tanks come ready to use, or is it still best to seal them with a liner kit before installing? For now, we'll go ahead and line the tank we ordered and hope to get my coworker's bike back on the road next month.
