When I got my Commando, I quickly noticed a few things that needed attention. I added a Combat breather kit to reduce crankcase pressure and leaks, upgraded to a Boyer ignition system and a modern regulator for smoother idling and better reliability, and replaced the layshaft bearing and clutch seals to steer clear of any gearbox issues. I also swapped out the hubs for sealed bearings and upgraded the brakes, which really improved control. If you're considering modifications, I'd recommend addressing the weak spots in the factory setup first, then focus on comfort and handling.

Some basic mods you should consider are a better exhaust, upgraded lighting and a more comfortable seat. On the Norton, I mainly focused on reliability, so thats electronic ignition, stronger charging system and improved brakes. Nothing fancy, but it made the bike way more dependable. If you're planning your next project, Id start with whatever's holding the bike back or making rides less fun.
